NATALIE MCCOOL – WINNER OF FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR 2013 SPONSORED BY URBAN CALM
How did it feel to win Female Artist of the year sponsored by Urban Calm?
I was so happy, it felt amazing. When they called my name out I was just so surprised, and I had to do a speech. I don’t think I have ever had to give a speech before, I didn’t really know what to say, but I winged it and got through. Female Artist of the year is such a great title to have, It made 2013 even better for me! The night its self was just fantastic, the venue was great, the whole experience was brilliant. I took my Mum, Dad and sister and they really enjoyed it, they were all so proud. Performing on the balcony with Dominic Dunn was unreal. St George’s Hall looked stunning.
What are your plans for 2014?
2013 was great, with the album launch and the tour. I recorded an EPat Abby Road that was amazing! Towards the end of 2013 I recorded a single, that will get released in April this year. I have only just finished doing the video, for it so I am shattered.2014 has been great so far, Im releasing the single as I said in April and I am going to be doing even more recording I should have released at least two singles by the end of the year. Im still writing at the moment, and really enjoying the stuff with Broken Men, which I’m doing as a little side project. I’ve got loads of gigs booked, quite a few in London. I will be doing single launch in Liverpool and also in London, very exciting!
Who would your dream collaboration be with?
Hmm it would have been Jeff Buckley, but sadly he’s not with us anymore which is really sad. I really like Alt-J at the moment,I would love to perform with them, theres so many people I wouldn’t be able to pick!
Which Liverpool artists/bands have really caught your eye?
Wow there’s been so many, almost too much talent haha. I started playing with Broken Men, I really enjoy working with them. Also Bird are amazing but there’s so many I wouldn’t be able to pick just one out.
